| Synopsis: | This version of the Gawain legend has been especially adapted from the fourteenth century poem and uses the anonymous poet as storyteller. King Arthur's Christmas festivities are interrupted by the arrival of the Green Knight. Young Gawain accepts the challenge and beheads him but, within the year, must seek him out to receive a return blow. Gawain eventually arrives unknowingly at the Knight's castle and is wooed by the latter's lady but he proves true and returns in triumph and honour to Arthur's court. | |||||
