Jesse Schmitt began his playwriting career in college after having visited the Edinburgh Fringe Theatre Festival and being completely in awe of the power of live performance. His black box character-driven dramas have been produced all over the country and his involvement in the process led to his moving to New York City in 2001, establishing relationships with a number of off-off Broadway theatre producers, and his eventual formation of his own production arm, InTouch Theatre Productions in 2002. His bio includes a number of repeat performers such as the three character farce, "What You See" the six character, coming of age drama "Last Day," and the four character, Dickensesque runaway story "Fortune." Good fortune has temporarily led Schmitt to the left coast where he's received a number of exciting opportunities in both freelance journalism and theatre production but he plans on returning to his off-off Broadway home in 2008.
