Genre: | Piece | |||||
| Parts: | Male | 2 | Female | 1 | ||
Parts other: | extras | |||||
Notes: | - | |||||
Synopsis: | Not merely noir, but in places almost pitch-black, Punchdrunk's Faust roams, like its audience, through a creepy landscape of late-i 950s Americana, re-created over five floors of a disused docks development. Visitors are issued masks, split into small groups and scattered around the venue. Moving through the darkness, they may stumble across a Walpurgisnacht jive in a run-down nightclub, despairing encounters in seedy motel rooms - or simply other lost, masked souls, searching for the next fragment of the story. Played out through dance and intense physical confrontations rather than dialogue, Faust's damnation is re-enacted several times through the evening. However, sod's law, the maze-like set and a stream of artful distractions mean that nobody is likely to see it in its entirety, however determinedly they try to follow Dan Canham's DH Lawrence-like Faust, Vinicius Salles' charismatic Mephistopheles, or any of the other characters. Allusive and serendipitous, this is a fiendishly clever telling of a familiar tale.

Synopsis: | Imagine walking into a disused building. You find yourself inside a film. It is a ghost story where unexpected forces, veiled by the American Dream, come out from the dark to haunt you. . .It Felt Like a Kiss tells the story of America's rise to power in the golden age of pop, and the unforeseen consequences it had on the world and in our minds. Beginning in 1959, the show spotlights the dreams and desires that America inspired during the '60s, when the world began to embrace the country and its culture as never before. But as this daring production unfolds across five floors, blending music with documentary and the disorientating whirl of a fairground ghost train, the audience is forced to face the dark forces that were veiled by the American dream - a dream that ultimately returns to haunt us all.

Genre: | Play/Drama | |||||
| Parts: | Male | - | Female | - | ||
Parts other: | large cast
Notes: | - | |||||
Synopsis: | Here in a series of chambers, you find yourself in a dank world of the future, inspired by Fritz lang's Metropolis. Here it is always night, and workers scurry around setting off a witty chain of events that result in a sudden flood of light. This isn't a performance in any traditional sense; its more like an art show in which objects have beeen brought together to create connections that conjure the moody experience of the city nightshift worker, or a dark soul of the night.
