Notes:

written by Mel Weiser, Al Davis and Al Polhamus. Sky High was made available to schools as a student production in the mid-1960s. The submitter of this information is aware of two such productions in the U.S.: One at Cass City High School in Michigan in April 1965, and one at Oxford Area Intermediate School in the spring of 1968 or the spring of 1969.

Synopsis:

A New York City neighborhood becomes the site of a new 140-story skyscraper. Romance blossoms between the architect and a woman in the neighborhood, but also between a neighborhood resident who opposes the skyscraper out of fear that it will ruin the character of the neighborhood, and the sparkplug for the skyscraper project, the chief city planner, one "Roberta Moses.".The name of the chief city planner in the show, Roberta Moses, is a takeoff on actual New York City planner Robert Moses, who famous (or infamous) for remaking the city's landscape significantly in the 1950s and 1960s. A local newspaper article on a high school production of the play may be found at http://newspapers.rawson.lib.mi.us/chronicle/CCC_1965 (E)/issues/04-15-1965.pdf
