Synopsis: | Cricklewood Cowboys tells the story of a group of Irish emigrants working on the building sites in London in the 1970's. It examines in a 'warts and all' detail, the construction industry over a period of twenty years. 'The Lump' has always had its fair share of characters and chancers - and more that its fair share of accidents. The play casts a beady eye on the proceedings in a darkly humorous fashion. There's Johnjo; ignorant and unskilled, Bannaher; the big man, the subby, Larry and Terry; the chancers, Dougie; whose temporary home is a coffin, Father Maguire; who might be more at home swinging a pick that his rosary beads, and of course the long-suffering women; Tessa and Bernie. | |||||
