Synopsis:

Original: historic /fiction; about the Spartacus slave uprising in 72BC told with a pastiche of Roman New Comedy (in the style of Plautus), Heroic melodrama and Realism. The story follows Spartacus' victories over the Roman legions as he fights for freedom from Rome and a consensus within his own insurgency. Also examines the political maneuvering of Marcus Crassus' leading to his victory against the uprising and positioning him to become part of the first Roman triumvirate marking the end of the Roman Republic.
