Synopsis: As Germany increased its attacks on Britain during World War II, a controversial program was enacted to transport British children to safer shores. Beth, Bess, and 90 other children boarded the S.S. City of Benares in the spring of 1940 and embarked on a trip that changed their lives forever. Two actresses portray the girls, their families, and friends on a simple set that strikingly frames each event: from quiet kitchen conversations to playful sibling squabbles to a horrifying torpedo attack amidst the dark, unnerving silence of the icy Atlantic

Notes: Written by Selma Dimitrijevic, Nicola McCartney, Linda McLean and Haresh Sharma. To celebrate the 300th Anniversary of the Act of Union between Scotland and England and the upcoming Scottish Elections, 7:84 has commissioned four writers - Nicola McCartney, Haresh Sharma, Selma Dimitrijevic & Linda McLean - to examine the theme of Separation and Reconciliation. They will use four momentous historical events as a backdrop: Ireland/England 1921; India/Pakistan 1947; Croatia/Serbia 1991; Scotland/England 2007.
Synopsis: When should you stay in a partnership and when should you walk away? When is compromise just another word for humiliation? Or are some partnerships worth the struggle? After all, whether it's family, friend or lover, it all needs work. . .

Synopsis: When is a sheep not a sheep? this is the eternal question one bright-eyed piece of Highland fleece asks herself in Nicola McCartney's adaptation of SR Harris's chil-dren's tale, brought to life in Andrew Panton's irreverent production. Stuck in a bed-and-breakfast, until she gives herself the tasty name of the island she lives on, not quite black sheep Skye hasn't much of a clue who or what she is. So, just like any other restless youth in the throes of an identity crisis, she hitches a ride into the big wide world. Here she sells her wares on the back of some tourist tartan tat flogged on the cheap on Blackpool prom, and meets a very woolly guru before finding her way back home to Jacob. Never before has a sheep appeared to act in such an individual fashion. And with eyelashes not seen since the late American ventriloquist Shari Lewis brought her own snow white sock, Lamb Chop, to life, Skye is a force of nature and some considerable charm. Cut away the cuteness, and McCartney, Panton and a cast led by Allie Cohen, who also designed, built and operates the puppets, is a plain old existential quest.
