Notes: | from novel Every Third Thought by Dorothea Malm
Synopsis: | Oscar and his sisters Anne and Beatrice live alone and spend most of their time reminiscing about the past. They distrust the younger generation and are not looking forward to Christmas when great-niece Melissa and her husband Jack are coming to stay. The young couple are insensitive and hurt the feelings of the older people. They row constantly. Jack throws back the Christmas present - a cheque - from Oscar. On Christmas Day Jack and Melissa argue loudly in their room. Jack rushes out of the house - steals Oscar's car and drives away. Later Melissa is found in her room - strangled.
