Synopsis:

In the wake of Katrina, a selfish yuppie bumpily finds his conscience and accepts our moral responsibility to one another. James Landry has had a few too many at Boudreau's bar in Baton Rouge where he's been living since he fled his native New Orleans after Katrina. He's getting ready to leave when a mysterious young woman appears, calling him by his first name. "James, why didn't you bring the boat?" Mari asks him. James insists he doesn't know her. "What boat? I don't know what you're talking about?" But Mari persists in calling him on it. The storm left her with nothing but the poems of her grandpa who perished. As the evening goes on, Mari forces James to come out of denial, face his past, and take a first step in looking after someone other than himself.
