Maev Mac Coille holds a Masters in Playwriting from Royal Holloway University of London. Her play 'The Cruelty of 17' won the St Andrew's Young Playwright of the Year Competition, and she was commissioned for the Abbey Theatre Seeds Programme. She is a Creative Associate of the Blank Pages theatre company, and made her debut with that company with the piece The Woman Who, premiered in London in November 2010. More recently she has written for Ten Four and Tiny Dog theatre companies, and developed the script for Simple Procedures in collaboration with Deepwater Horizon Theatre Company. She has written for radio as well as the stage, with "So, There's This Girl," and "Darkness into Light" produced by HuRiCa Productions. Her work has been performed at the LiT Space, Theatre Royal Stratford East, The White Bear and Theatre 503 in London. She is currently developing "The Optimists" into a full-length piece in association with Tiny Dog productions.
