Synopsis: | Always Family is an Asian American tale of the struggle between immigrant parents' traditions and their American children's culture. The tale follows a mother who rules with an iron fist and is petrified of failure, an apathetic father, a daughter who never feels she can meet her mother's expectations, and a scholarly son who feels guilty for overshadowing his sister. Academic pressure, the death of a family pet, attempted suicide, and marital strife send the family into turmoil. | |||||
