| Synopsis: | A farce set in a police station of a small country town. The two officers who maintain the station find their lives disordered by the arrival of a senior detective to solve a murder case. During the investigation a great deal is revealed about the occupants of the station but very little about the case at hand. One policeman is something of a stud and has been having an affair witho the other's wife. An elderly woman who is either an abortionist or a used car dealer confuses the situation, as does the local idiot who may or may not have done the murder. The situation becomes very confused and numerous people get shut in numerous cupboards and such. Seduc-tion, accusation, infidelity feature prominently. At the end all is revealed (except who did the murder) with disastrous results and a murder and a suicide follow, changing the tone of the play somewhat abruptly. A neat if not happy ending is provided by the visiting detective. | |||||
