Biography of Charles LaTourette

The playwright lived and worked in NYC theatre from 1979-1984 (He lived in NY until 1990, but was not involved in the theatre.) A graduate of the University of Oregon, he studied with Stella Adler, director Gene Frankel and the great character actor Bill Hickey, among others. He acted, directed and wrote several plays. In addition, he wrote for NBC's Another World as a free-lance writer. Plays produced by local theatre companies in NY included: Steve & Steve at the Quaigh Theatre, Franks at the Theatre St. Peters Citicorp, All The Tomatoes at the Lion Theatre (later the Lamb Theatre), Chicken Little Was Right at the NY Actors Ensemble and HOOPS at the Divine Theatre. The author was represented by Donna Cappella of the Marge Fields Agency. He was member of AEA and AFTRA, and the Writers Guild. The writer is fourth-generation Oregonian, and now lives in the Portland area with his wife and two children.
