Larry Kramer was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on June 25th 1935. He was educated in Yale. He spent most of the 1960s in London writing screenplays including "Women In Love" for Ken Russell. When he returned to the States he wrote the hugely successful novel "Faggots" (which was condemned by some gay activists because of its hedonistic portrayal of gay men). When the AIDS crisis broke Larry was in the forefront of campaigning to get something done. He formed the organisation Gay Mens Health Crisis. In the 1990s Kramer was diagnosed as being HIV+. He gave what was considered a shocking speech during the 2004 Presidential election in which he said that gay men were too involved with drugs and sex to bother about their rights and that the US government were using AIDS as a way of exterminating homosexuals. In 2001 Yale University accepted his political and literary papers and an endowment to establish a gay history course. He lives in New York with his partner David Webster

Gilbert has left his lover, the Mayor of a large town and wants to hide in case the Mayor chases after him. Gilbert has hidden in Foppy's bedroom when the doorbell rings again - this time it is Junior the son of the Potentates who wants to be a ballet dancer and to come out. He is running away from his parents to live his own life. The Mayor turns up and Herman, the video tape is passed from one person to another and finally Mrs Potentate arrives for her liaison. Gilbert and Junior meet and fall in love - it looks like Herman dies whilst having sex with Trudy. After much running in and out of the bedrooms. Junior and his mother confront each other.
