| Synopsis: | New Hope City is a post-apocalyptic rock and roll show about three sketchy dudes, and one half-robot/half-dude broadcasting pirate radio in the seedy outskirts of a beautiful, franchised city, owned and operated by an omnipotent mega-corporation. New Hope City stands somewhere between the Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense, a community-center play in the cafeteria, 1984, Corey MacAbee's American Astronaut, and a basement rock and roll show. The play is a raw, hand-crafted, musical collage about a future world, using elements of live music, live action, film, dance, and motion-controlled projections to break down the fourth wall, and connect with the audience. - nytheatre.com | |||||
