Chip Keyes was born in Hartford, Connecticut and received a BA in Theatre Arts from Hartford's Trinity College. On graduation, he moved to NYC where he wrote & performed in comedy groups THE PORTABLE CIRCUS and KEYES & LIPPA, appearing in college concerts, nightclubs and theatrical runs in NY and Philadelphia. In addition to his comedy work, Mr. Keyes also worked in New York as an actor and playwright, having several show produced as Equity showcases, including EASY OUTS OR THE ADVENTURES OF ALPHONSE ON THE LAM, ARCHIBALD & BASIL and THERE'S A BROKEN LIGHT FOR EVERY HEART. He later moved to Los Angeles, where, since 1980, he has worked as a writer-producer on hundreds of half hour television episodes, among them VALERIE, THE HOGAN FAMILY, PERFECT STRANGERS and SHAKY GROUND. He has also continued to write plays, prose, poetry and also perform occasionally.
