Sody Singh Kahlon     Lovin A Sorna Gora
Company
Synopsis:

Lovin A Sorna Gora (Loving A Nice White Boy). It's a comedy combo of Asian stand-up, sitcom, songs and sketches that together tell the story of the penny-pinching Mucky Singh's frantic struggle to get his fifth daughter married in the cheapest manner possible! The miserly matrimonial search takes our stingy explorer from Southall to South India using the Internet, the Auntie-Net and any other net to catch her an eligible bloke! But cutting costs can have side-effects as the arranged marriage becomes the deranged marriage Mucky was not expecting! "Lovin A Sorna Gora" is the fourth Funjabi show written by Sody Singh Kahlon. It takes the group on yet another journey which this time orchestrates their sketches and stand-up around a comical story about Asian integration with modern Britain. As well as presenting a variety of comedy forms in a single show, the troupe also introduce the Funjabis' first lady; Mamta Anand playing the role of Kamal, the traditional daughter who finds herself taking the untraditional step of falling for a sorna gora (a nice white boy).

Sody Singh Kahlon     Soul Sikher
Company
Synopsis:

The script is a cunning combination of sharp satire, lewd comedy and political insight in which no target is too sacred, including ballistic cross border strife over Kashmir, deft sideswipes at Bengalis, Brits, Muslims and historic heroes of the Raj. Soul Sikher follows the journey of an imbalanced Paul aka (Asianly Known As) Palwinder who stumbles from his Sikh path into the belly of materialistic Britain. When his pleasure comes only from his Plasma, his salvation from his Playstation and his reverence from his Lexus, it is time for divine intervention to reel him in with a final test via a one-way ticket to the Punjab! And so begins Pauls reluctance re-acquaintance with his roots, his-self, and his extraordinary people including; the driving destructor, the unbearable sister, a bugger of a beggar and the sub-continents craziest sucker; Chippore the mosquito. Augmented with video footage filmed on location in India (and Southall), Sody Singh Kahlon once again embarks on a fast-paced provocative and moving production that challenges his award winning comedy career and furthers Sikh representation in British theatre.
