Notes: | written by by Mark Jaster and Sabrina Mandell
Synopsis: | The pop culture impression of a mime, made popular by street performers and the exploitation of such artists in television and movies, has become an image of a man in white-face, trapped in an imaginary box. Happenstance Theater challenges the perceived stereotypes in a series of family-friendly fun-filled sketches. From a Greco-Roman pantomime through a post-modern clown sketch, Mark Jaster, master of the art of mime, and his partner Sabrina Mandell ply their craft in a panoramic spectrum of materials and styles, including the Italian Renaissance Commedia and the silent film.
