Synopsis: It was Karl Marx who first brought to light the idea that capitalism is a "monster created by man", but that was a long time ago right? Today, we've learned to work dead-end jobs and just make believe that we're doing it for a the greater good. For the staff of the Cornerstone bookstore-a rag-tag group of activists, intellectuals, and emerging artists-the cause is fighting to keep the free flow of information protected, and themselves employed. However; when the owner of the Cornerstone dies everything is thrown into chaos and everyone is looking for the one who will save them, books and all. Die Ursache audiences follow the hilariously tragic efforts of one worker who has just been let go, but is nonetheless sworn to save a historic document which he has hidden away in the store and believes that he can reinterpret. In this mini-epic, Marx's great journey into the heart of capitalism is put into a modern comedic context through brazen urban activists, lawyers, and business people all of whom are seeking to define the connection between books, betrayal, and learning how to profit from their next battle. | ||||
