Synopsis: | Beauty and the Beast is this years Anvil Arts Haymarket Christmas show. This Anvil Arts production is perfect for those looking for an alternative to pantomime. The story by Steve Hawes is a heart-warming adaptation of the fairy tale. When a handsome prince refuses to marry the Empress of the Forest, she turns him into a hideous beast. The Beast is doomed to stay a monster at the hunting lodge in the woods unless he can persuade a woman to fall in love with him, as he is, of her own free will. After her father picks the Beasts precious perpetual rose, Beauty becomes a prisoner to save his life. This is the chance that the Beast has been waiting for - can he make Beauty see through appearances and fall in love with him? | |||||
