Robert Gulack holds an MFA in Playwriting from the Yale School of Drama, where he studied with Mamet and Kopit, and where his comedy THE COMPLETE WORKS was produced with Mark Linn-Baker and Polly Draper. He won a national playwriting prize for his play ONE THOUSAND AND ONE, which was performed before sold-out audiences at Washington, D.C.'s Source Theatre, and later presented as a reading by both the Abingdon Theatre in New York City and by Twelves Miles West in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Short plays from his science fiction cabaret, MY NEXT PLANET WILL BE NORMAL, have been presented at the Source Theatre and at the National Theatre in Washington. Robert Gulack also holds a JD from Yale Law School (where he served as Essays Editor of the Yale Law Journal). In 2006, he was elected on a reform ticket to the Bergen County Democratic Committee. He has served since 2007 as a member of the Steering Committee of Bergen Grassroots, the county-wide political reform organization. Since 2003, he has been a leading figure in the movement to clean up contamination left behind by the 9/11 attacks. As a member of the Advisory Committee for the World Trade Center Community-Labor Coalition, he has spoken at many press conferences, in Washington and New York, with Senator Clinton and Congressman Nadler. As a lawyer with the federal government, he helped to found a union that now represents thousands of federal employees, and served that union as a steward.
