The action centres on Jo, a grown-up tomboy and 'one of the boys' whose life is thrown off-kilter when her best friend O'Mally and ex-high school sweetheart announces his relationship with her other best friend the ex prom queen Carla. Things become even more complicated when the job of foreman becomes available and O'Mally and Jo both vie for it dividing livelong friends.
