| Synopsis: | BOREDOM!!! (as an amplifier) exposes the intersection between dance and sound through the vibratory presence of both forms. The performance uses the live manipulation of electronic sound equipment to create the basis for the movement vocabulary, which shuffles between a contemplative static quality accompanied by the buzz of electronics and an explosive shaking motivated by amplified distorted vocals. This is a performance in which the movement of bodies creates and interacts with the production of sound. The performance shifts from one extreme state to another as it addresses the place of presentation and collapses the magic of the theater. Sound and silence surrounds the audience and performers, creating a shared space of experience. Objects are moved and shifted. Lighting design is controlled in real time by the performers. Performative states shift from casual spectator to focused performer. Press Release | |||||
