James Gibson has been a composer, conductor, pianist, writer, director and actor for five decades. He has performed Off Broadway and throughout Europe and North America, and has worked with many of the leading musical, film and stage artists of our time. He has written two novels and several plays and screenplays. His music has been performed in 35 countries and recorded widely. He was formerly a professor at Cornell University, University of Maine and Penn State University. Based in the Washington, DC area, he maintains a busy schedule of composing, concerts and recitals, and writing. Recently he completed an opera based on Shakespeare's Henry VI Part 1, and has just finished writing a collection of travel essays, Places.
