Synopsis: | Miss Pell rules the household with a rod of iron. Her brother, Richard and his daughter Louise have no life of their own. Then one day she disappears. Soon life changes and when they get access to Miss Pell's money it gets even better - new clothes and furnishings. All this to the great disapproval of Louise's fiance Otis. It is thought that it would be best if a detective were hired to trace Miss Pell and pretty but dim David gets the job. Then a ramsom note arrives. Stating that Miss Pell is being held in Nova Scotia and unless the ransom is paid she will be sent home. Richard and Louise pay up. But then the totally unexpected happens - David finds her. She fell hit her head and now thinks that she is Mary Smith and she has been living in Yonkers. Otis had been short of money and had sent the ramsom note. Louise marries David. Mary comes to the house and falls over and regains her memory - but Richard hits her with a nearby object and she becomes Mary again | |||||
