Synopsis: | Jackie and her son, Billy, are having trouble communicating. He's only interested in his friends, Bunny and Nicola and playing football in the cage; school holds no attraction at all. Things shift and break apart with the arrival of Len, the social worker who introduces a video project to the estate. For some, Jackie in particular, involvement with the project, and with Len, means a chance to grow and connect and move on. For Billy it's an assault on his position as king of the cage, and the man in his mother's life. Pushed to the brink by Billy, deserted by Len, Jackie locks Billy in the cage and plants herself beside it, refusing to let him out until he talks to her. In the whole world there is nothing left but the mother and her son, who must find a way to speak to each other. | |||||
