Synopsis:

The play is based on the true life-story of Zoora Shah, an abused woman who killed her lover/pimp and was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 1992. Abandoned by her husband, she did everything she could to protect her young children and provide a roof over their heads. But poverty, illiteracy, sexual enslavement and the double standards of a closed Muslim community in Bradford, fuelled by religion and drugs, drive her to the edge.
