| Synopsis: | In a rain-battered house in the Pacific Northwest, two brothers fight over the family legacy--a legacy consisting mainly of false starts, missed opportunities, and unlimited bitterness. The battle begins when the wayward, oldest son returns home demanding his birthright, and continues through a long night of reminiscence, recrimination, deer attacks, and Britain-bashing. Watched over and sometimes egged on by their detached father, his young wife, their childlike older sister, and the youngest son's long-suffering wife, they stake out their ground and offer up their versions of the truth. When a country singer suffering from writer's block appears and their sister disappears, the two brothers square off in a final contest whose prize is ownership and control of the past. | |||||
