Synopsis: | Rural life is not what it used to be - and the difference is killing people. When AGNES returns from the city to her hopelessly disfunctional family in NQ, she wants answers. Why did her brother die? Why did nobody tell her about it? Why haven't her parents spoken to each other in twenty years? Why is her boyfriend suddenly becoming Aboriginal? No-one wants to talk but Agnes is not the girl to take silence for her answer. Before the tangled histories are unravelled, her world turns upsidedown and her family finally understands that silence never was the solution. Funny, honest and original, OUTSIDE LIVES is based on the playwright's talks with families and workers in rural communities. It features four great songs with music by Brisbane-based composer, Mark Shortis. This production has toured regional Queensland, playing eight NARPACA and two country venues with box-office success and considerable audience acclaim. | |||||
