It is ostensibly a reminiscence about Mr. McDermott's youth; specifically, one day when he was about fifteen years old a poltergeist visited his home and wreaked bizarre but temporary havoc on it. Around this tale Mr. McDermott weaves stream-of-consciousness musings about his family, his unrequited search for a "beloved," the creation of this play, and the current, cluttered disarray of his existence.

This is a show about mistaken identity, not just of an individual, but of the human race en masse. Employing his trade-mark humour, frankness, vulnerability and wit, and blending video and chalk images with performance, storytelling and stand-up, Dartnell explores this possible error in our perception: that we believe ourselves to be Some-thing, when we might actually be No-thing.
