Alexandra Cunningham graduated from Johns Hopkins and Columbia; at the latter she received the John Golden Award for Best Play. From 1998-2000 she was a playwright in residence in the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program at Juilliard. Her plays have been workshopped and performed at New York Stage and Film, the Rich Forum, Denver Center Theater, and the O'Neill Playwrights Conference, and she has been commissioned by South Coast Repertory; she has been a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Award and won the Francesca Primus Prize. Her play No. 11 (Blue and White) premiered in the 2000 Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville and was produced by The Play Company in New York City in January/February 2002. Ms. Cunningham lives in Los Angeles, where she is presently developing a television series for HBO which she will executive produce with Sydney Pollack. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Writers Guild of America West.
