Synopsis:

Carmen and Wil could not be more different. Carmen is Mexican, educated, and willing to work at any job to help support her family. Wil, on the other hand, is American, a college dropout, extremely wealthy, and has never held a job in his life. Even his career as a poet has failed. While Carmen's entire life revolves around her family as her father serves time in jail for speaking out against the Mexican government, Wil's energy is almost exclusively directed toward rebelling against his ultra-conservative father and stepmother. When Carmen takes a job as the VanDusens' housekeeper her life collides with Wil's.
