Synopsis: Cruisin The Musical is coming to the Regal Theatre on 26 October - 4 November 2007. The show is a Rock 'n Roll story about Vinnie, a "good Italian boy" who has migrated to Australia in the early 50's with his parents and sister Maria. His father Vincenzo has the ideal Italian lifestyle worked out for Vinnie, but Vinnie has other ideas! He must lead the Cruisin' band and win the Battle Of The Bands. When the story transforms to new Years Eve 1959, conflict comes to a head when Vincenzo finds out Vinnie is playing that "Crazy rock and a rolla music", he has fallen in love with a "blonde girl from Australia", he is failing his exams at school and, what's worse, his daughter has fallen in love with the guitarist and "bodgie no hoper", Phil Stanton! It takes courage and determination for the family to resolve their differences. This is a fun filled, all singing, dancing and big band show, featuring 21 new songs arranged for a 12 piece band. The show will star Glenn Shorrock of Little River Band fame as Papa and Chris Murphy, runner up in Australian Idol 2006 as Johnny Angel.
