MELANIE CASE is a celebrated Bay Area-based actor, writer, comedian, producer, director and teacher. As an actor, she originated the role of Pam in Peter Sinn Nachtrieb's Hunter Gatherers and was recently seen Bright Ideas at Shotgun Players. Off-Broadway credits include KML Takes Manhattan (The Producer's Club, Upright Citizens Brigade). Off-Off Broadway credits include Green Eyes Dreaming (HERE, the American Living Room Festival), and The Bacchae (The Looking Glass Theater). She recently completed two independent films, The Snake and Evolution: The Musical! As a writer, she has co-written a short film, Diner Ladies, with Tonya Glanz, and her sketch comedy work has been seen performed with critically acclaimed San Francisco comedy troupe Killing My Lobster. Ms. Case has been a company member of Killing My Lobster for four years. She also produced her original two-woman show, co-written with Amanda Gamer, The Sho Show, in Los Angeles. She has studied commedia dell'arte at The Actors' Gang in Los Angeles, and improvisation with Comedy Sportz and The Second City (NY training center). At the age of 16 she founded The Lunatic Players improvisation troupe at her alma mater Menlo Atherton High School. The troupe is currently running strong in its 12th year. Ms. Case studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater's Young Conservatory, where she began teaching improvisation and directing one-act plays in 2004. Ms. Case graduated with a B.A. in Theater from UCLA.
