Synopsis: | Based on Carol Burnett's bestselling autobiography, One More Time, HOLLYWOOD ARMS is the story of Helen and her coming of age in a dilapidated hotel room beneath the shadow of the Hollywood sign. Helen is guided through this bitter-sweet journey by her wisecracking Christian Scientist grandmother, Nanny; her alcoholic and often absentee dreamer of a mother, Louise; and her recovering alcoholic father, Jody, who hopes to reestablish a relationship with her in the wake of his recovery. But it is Helen's romantic ambition that helps her escape her less than ideal life as she sings and dances on the roof of her rundown building, where she develops the talents that propel her to stardom. | |||||
