Chris studied Theatre Arts at Birmingham University before embarking on a career that straddles theatre, the media world and education. He was artistic director of 'Flying Pig Theatre-in-Education Company' for four years (writing eight plays for youth), worked as a producer for TV-am, contributed to Radio 5's educational programming, produced radio advertisements, and was Head of Performing Arts at Barnet College. His theatre writing credits include: 'Girls Who Wear Glasses' , a jazz cabaret (National tour), 'Dishonorable Ladies', a one woman show for Honor Blackman, (National tour, and West End); book and lyrics for 'Tales My Lover Told Me' (King's Head Theatre, Islington); book and lyrics for 'The Last Fattybottypuss in the World' (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre); book for 'It's Only Make Believe' (Gatehouse Theatre, Highgate). He wrote book and lyrics for 'Me & Shahrazad' which received a workshop at South Bay Playhouse, Los Angeles and The Theatre Museum, Covent Garden. His play 'Sophie Tucker's One Night Stand' received a production at the New End Theatre, Hampstead, and then transferred to the Kings Head Theatre, Islington. He has completed book, music and lyrics for 'Sleeping Arrangements', based on the novel by Madeleine Wickham. Currently developing a new musical with music by Denise Wright: 'Death and Plenty', based on the novel by Brian Leyden. His TV writing credits include episodes of the Carlton soap opera 'London Bridge.' His radio writing credits include a five part drama serial for Radio 4 'The Invincible Violet' starring Sylvia Syms, broadcast in July 2004.
