David Brush currently serves as Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Victoria Theatre Association where he manages the Physicians for Kids Discovery Series as well as the Broadway University program and Director of the Schuster Center Broadway Children's Choir. David's education and background lies as a director, actor, designer, author, and educator in theatre education having served as Director of Vocal Music and Performing Arts for several prominent high school programs. Earning dual bachelor's degrees in Theatre / Music Education from Wright State University and Judson College, David has also directed and written for the stage for many years. Through his involvement with various non-profits, David has championed the new generation of American Musical Theatre creators and workshopped many original musicals from all over the country. Most notably, David is co-founder and Artistic Director for Encore Theatre Company whose current home is in the Mathile Theatre inside the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. Encore's mission is the presentation and development of new American musicals and works-in-progress His own stage musicals (as librettist and lyricist) have earned awards and acclaim - most notably as a finalist for the 2003 Chicago STAGES Festival for new musicals for Jim and David's first work Summer of My German Soldier. David and Jim aere also the creators of The Big Picture - workshopped in 2005. Jim and David's newest work based on the final days of Edgar Allan Poe - Cognac & Roses is currently in development.
