Synopsis: | A rational and brilliant scientist is confounded and terrorised as people close to him die by what appears to be spontaneous combustion. A psychotic cult leader presents himself to the scientist, admits responsibility for the burnings (which can never be attributed to him - In-deed what clues there are point to the scientist as murderer) and means to bring the scientist into his cult. This play is a battle between the powers of the rational and irrational, with the scientist forced to delve into his own darker side to finally defeat his adversary.

Synopsis: | Four people in a New York hotel (periodontist from Cleveland, his wife, his old college roommate, and an actress turned porn queen) find their lives, for an evening, interwoven. The Cleveland couple, frustrated by the limitations of their lives are fascinated by the New York pair, and are seduced and repelled in turn. The sophisticated couple play superior to Middle American values, but only to cover the thin hold on their own brittle lives. This is a bitter comedy that feeds on the sparks generated when two opposing life-styles clash. The final confrontations are fierce, with neither side emerging victorious.
