Synopsis: | It is 1940 and young Chippy is trying to get rid of a body that won't lie down. 'It is not,' as he and his mates keep explaining to everyone who catches them at it, 'what you think.' His Huddersfield family are the local undertakers and to help the war effort they are recycling coffins: after a few days in the earth and before their shiny handles can get tarnished they are dug up, the bodies returned to their graves without them, and they are ready to use again. But this kind of 'Digging for Victory' has to end when they are all called up. | |||||
