Synopsis: | The Pod Project is a new performance piece created by Nancy Bannon. It is described as a "unique theatrical experience that offers audiences thirteen short scenes performed for one audience member at at time." Each scene is performed inside a cylindrical pod, designed specifically for this show, and the scene content is described as ranging "from highly interactive to resolvedly voyeuristic: a woman listing what she doesn't want you to know; a sleeping man and a hillside of glistening white sheep; a waitress playing 'Die Valkyrie' on water glasses; a bespectacled man in a melting caterpillar suit talking about the future; a woman behind a table of wigs; or a little girl singing beside her weary mother." After each scene ends, every audience member moves on to another pod, and eventually experiences all of The Pod Project's scenarios. | |||||
