Synopsis:

It is the week prior to the Biblical story of Abraham and his son Isaac, and old Abraham travels to the top of the mountain to sacrifice a goat for the glory of the Lord. Unfortunately, no one bothered to mention this to the goat! Practically a Warner Brother's cartoon, Abraham on the Mount is a wonderfully silly piece that combines slapstick, Borscht-belt humor and quickfire repartee that promises to keep audiences rolling the aisles!

Synopsis:

1921, Georgia. The small town of Harlan was established fifty years before on the heels of the uncertain and unforgiving Reconstructionist era. Pulling together all they had, former white slave owners and newly freed slaves set aside their predjudices and their pasts to create a new community-one where race is the least of their problems. On a bleak Autumn evening, a young white boy named Jeffrey Pitts discovers that the beloved wife of the black Baptist Minister, Mrs. Celia Rose Richards, has stolen the only car in town and vanished without a trace. His parents, his teacher, the townsfolk-no one knows any specifics concerning this mysterious flight. With the aid of his friend and confidante, Taffy Prull, Jeffrey decides to find Celia Rose and uncover the truth about her disappearance. But in doing so, Jeffrey uncovers secrets of the town that will change Harlan forever. Missing Celia Rose is an examination of the limits of faith, the limits of love, and the limits of tolerance in the unforgiving world of a decimated South.

New York City, 1999. This is the story of Lucy Nash, a young paleoanthropology student at Columbia University, nearly twenty-five years old. Emotionally stunted and socially introverted, Lucy faces a constant barrage of verbal abuse from her successful mother, and rushes to the embrace of a young social activist. But when Lucy unexpectedly becomes pregnant, she is left with two opposing advisors, and a rather difficult decision. How does a woman with no sense of self learn to choose? Natural History is an examination of the nature of identity; how we perceive ourselves, and how we are perceived by others. At varying times comedic and dramatic, it incorporates themes of anthropological study, children's literature, and the polarizing abortion debate, all to illustrate one woman's journey of self-discovery.

The Saga of Ginny is one play out of a related series of shorts entitled Narrative Strains.

Synopsis:

A play within a play: This is the story of young Ginny, a girl with impeccable manners and good nature, told completely in rhyming verse by the Narrator. After being introduced to the joys of premium cable television, Ginny adopts a vocabulary most unsuitable for a young woman, and so begins her fall from grace. But the play within a play is halted by a moral monitor, Ms. Francis Carter-Cresswell, who is outraged by the blatant use of profanity being utilized by the characters. As the Narrator and the actress playing Ginny attempt to continue their story, the frequent interruptions lead to a terrible and grisly conclusion. The Saga of Ginny is a hilarious examination of profanity, morality and censorship in conservative America.

Hank talks about his imagined super powers including his X-ray vision that allows him to see things that go on inside buildings like the Motel 9. The story starts slowly, but in the second half moves very well and provides a satisfying heart-warming ending. With some reworking, this could be the short play answer to Of Mice and Men, specifically the rich relationship between Lennie and George.
