Synopsis:

A young woman left with her village for the farm in West Africa. She never came back home. Over 300 years later, her legacy lives on. Her children walk amongst you. This is the story of survival, told through the universal voices of motherhood. It has been preserved on through generations to now. Araba's Song chronicles a tale of love on many levels - spiritual, physical and emotional. This is the life story of those who made it, scars and all. A people whom despite set backs, have carved a place in history. Above everything else, Araba's Song is a legacy of the hope within. A memory of happier times we dare to recapture. As one of the characters voices: "No one here can write a cheque big enough to wipe out the holocaust that was slavery." And so like that melody, the hope survives. At times, the keys to our shackles are hidden within us!
