Zawe holds a BA Degree in Acting from Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre. Writing credits include: Farrago UK Poetry Slam! Champion (2000), Dream Factor (National Youth Theatre Schools Tour), Have a Butchers, Sweetness and Light (DryWrite), Edible Flowers (DryWrite at Latitude Festival), Girls Aloud (Clean Break Theatre). Zawe's first play 'Harm's Way' was shortlisted for the Verity Bargate Award (2007). 'arms Way' premiered earlier this year as part of the National Youth Theatre's new writing season at The Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays directed by Tessa Walker. Manchester Evening News **** this queasily, gripping 75 minute drama is tough stuff all right and will either appall or enthrall. Zawe has recently finished her second play as part of the Royal Court Invited Writers Group led by Leo Butler. Leo has since suggested it for the shortlist for the Royal Court Young Writers Festival. Zawe is currently under commisison to Clean Break and working with the Bush Theate Futures scheme. Zawe was a Young Writer in Residence at Contact Theatre, Manchester (2006).
