Abigail Anderson directed Gonzo Moose's previous shows, the highly acclaimed You Don't Need to Know That and Is That a Bolt in Your Neck? Recent mid-scale national touring work includes: Dick Turpin's Last Ride, and new adaptations of Cider with Rosie and Three Men in a Boat, and Oliver Twist (Love and Madness). Shakespeare is one of her passions, having assisted at Shakespeare's Globe and the RSC. She's so far directed 17 of Shakespeare's plays, most recently: Romeo and Juliet for a schools tour, and Much Ado About Nothing, The Merchant of Venice and Twelfth Night for the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds. Site specific work includes: Between the Dark and the Daylight (Southwark Playhouse); Sweet Witchery and Dark Fancies (Scary Little Girls), Food of Love (Hamptons Shakespeare Company), and Sonnet Walks in various cities in the UK and US. Other favourite shows include: the Edinburgh Fringe cult hit Shakespeare for Breakfast (Edinburgh, Poland and North American tour), Physick Lies a-Bleeding in Apothecaries' Hall in the City of London; Romeo and Juliet and A Christmas Carol for Creation Theatre Company in Oxford; and the world premiere of Tennessee William's Like Candles to the Sun in the Platform Series at the Cottesloe, Royal National Theatre. Abigail is proud to be an Associate Director of the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds

Synopsis:

1806. It was cold. It was dark. It was almost certainly snowing. Brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm and their beloved sister, Lotte travel into deepest Bavaria. They are assembling what will become the greatest collection of fairy tales ever published. But now reality and fantasy are colliding and the family Grimm find themselves trapped in a twisted fantasy world of their own fairy tales. Are the hapless heroes in grave danger? Yes. From what? We cant tell you. Will they make it back alive? I hope so.
