Synopsis: | Set in Lahore, Tryst (With Destiny) takes place at night, beneath the arches of a railway bridge, where a runaway woman's world collides with a lunatic. In their brief meeting, these two tormented souls try to understand the new world order created by the recent Partition in Pakistan, whilst at the same time attempting to come to terms with the trials they are enduring themselves. Tryst (With Destiny) was inspired by Saadat Hasan Manto's short story Toba Tek Singh. | |||||
