Synopsis: | The play is based on Amigas: Letters of Friendship and Exile, a book of letters between Sepulveda and Agosin between 1965 and 2000. Amigas illustrates the diverse experience of two Latin American women coming of age in the 1970's, their class and religious differences, political activism and ultimately their immigration to the United States. The work exposes the experience of alterity, otherness, exile, gives voice to immigrant and other invisibilized communities and reveals the dimension of discrimination worldwide. | |||||
