Amy E. Witting is a graduate of Ithaca College, where she studied documentary filmmaking. She is the founding member of aWe Creative Group, a company devoted to self-producing original work. As a filmmaker she produced The Other Side: Savant Syndrome, About Face, and co-produced Womyn Unsilenced a documentary about violence against women. Her film inspired her to create American Spirits a showcase of four original one-act plays at The Gene Frankel Theatre directed by Bruce Ornstein. American Spirits was a semi-finalist at the Strawberry One-Act Festival at the Producers Club, and was directed by Michael LeBlanc in Los Angeles at the Complex Theatre. She received an award for Best Play and Playwright at GMI's 24! Festival for Jack and the Giant. Her play Wakefield was recently featured at The Sam French Festival, and her full-length play His Name is Edgar will be performed in 2008. As an actress she has been in various off-off Broadway productions including Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, Yoga is Beautiful, Man, The Sword Politik, The Inmate Show, Worms, Beautiful Night, and American Spirits
