Synopsis:

In the London of Elizabeth I plague rages. The theatres are closed. To keep working, a company of boy actors travels north to take up an invitation to perform at one of the great houses of Derbyshire Hardwick Hall. But what should be an uneventful engagement takes an unexpected turn when the adult leaders of the company are found dead throwing the boys into turmoil as they struggle for supremacy and survival. Arbella, lady of the house, and cousin to Queen Elizabeth, has her own ambitions, as do her ladies and the girls from the village. As all these dreams and desires collide, the boys soon find their reputations, perhaps their very lives, hanging in the balance. Inspired by local history, Squeakers is a comedy, a mystery and a love story. Join Derby LIVE Youth Theatre as they enter their third year: expect ruffs, riots and rivalry aplenty!
