The first ever UK commission for Berlins Rimini Protokoll  international leaders in reality theatre. Created by Helgard Haug, Stephan Kaegi and Daniel Wetzel

National Theatre Wales is joining forces with Berlin's pioneering reality theatre-makers Rimini Protokoll to create their first UK commission  in Aberystwyth. For 'Outdoors' two groups and two traditions are taken apart and set together in a new order: the group of a local choir with its powerful tradition of joining the same lines and taking breath in the same millisecond and the audience group: hundreds of people all coming to the same place at the same time and looking in the same directing without talking. What happens if both parties are split up in individuals who start whispering, follow traces to the backdoor and meet OURDOORS virtually or personally? Multi-award-winning Rimini Protokoll is based in Berlin and is recognised as being among the leaders and creators of the theatre movement known as 'Reality Trend". Each project begins with real people in a specific place, and is then developed through an intense exploratory process. Performed once a week for a year, Outdoors will premiere in February 2011. Audiences will assemble at a secret location and be taken on a singular journey with a joyful collective finale.
