Synopsis:
Gutz is Todd Wall's painfully funny life journey. Within minutes of entering this world, Todd is en route to his death bed, umbilical cord wrapped around his throat—his first winter scarf to keep him warm before they operate. Surviving birth and early childhood, he prepares for his bar mitzvah year, only to undergo a series of barbaric procedures, eventually being diagnosed with Crohn's disease. As he moves into adulthood, Todd finds humor in nearly every situation, regardless of how dire. His survival skills carry him through a brush with death on 9/11 and a brush with fame on a film set with Robert DeNiro (not to mention helping him deal with his overbearing yet lovable Jewish mother). Now 40, Todd's dependence on unlimited prescriptions finally leads him to his most painful confrontation of all—with himself. Quirky but true, Gutz is told with "gut-wrenching" honesty, humor, and just the right amount of pathos. It's not just Potty Humor, it's Potty Drama.
